Melanie Hoar-Phillips, Ph.D.

LabDiet

Dr. Melanie Hoar-Phillips earned her B.S. in Animal and Food Sciences (2009) and her Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition (2013) at the University of Kentucky. Her graduate research focused on mycotoxins and their effect on beef cattle performance. While working on her graduate degree, Melanie interned with LabDiet under Dr. Carrie Schultz. She worked primarily with non-human primate nutrition. Her project focused on organizing nutritional data for LabDiet’s non-human primate diets and dietary enrichment into a possible interactive website to assist with weight management in Rhesus Macaques. Post graduation, Melanie worked as a Dairy Nutritionist for an independent feed mill outside Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 2015 Melanie joined the LabDiet team in her current role as a Technical Services Consultant/Nutritionist. Her responsibilities include formulating custom diets, providing technical assistance to account managers, dealers, new and existing customers and working with the customer service department and quality team to ensure customers receive quality products.
