Notes

Taqman qPCR protocols are run on a real time PCR instrument. Use an appropriate instrument specific Fluorophore/Quencher combination.

 

The genotyping protocol(s) presented here have been optimized for reagents and conditions used by The Jackson Laboratory (JAX). To genotype animals, JAX recommends researchers validate the assay independently upon receipt of animals into their facility. Reaction cycling temperature and times may require additional optimization based on the specific genotyping reagents used.

Expected Results

Mutant=  136 bp

Wild Type = 149 bp

This assay can be run as a standard assay.  Run separated and omit probes.

This assay is capable of distinguishing hemi from hom.  Transgene insertion site is known to be on mouse Chr 18.
This assay is designed around this insertion site, but it has not been tested on hom animals.
This assay is NOT able to be used for copy number evaluation.  if this is required, it is suggested to type by qPCR.
