Jackson Lab leader, cancer scientist speaking April 30 at Rockport Opera House

Dr. Rick Woychik, president and CEO of The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine, and Jackson cancer researcher Dr. Kyuson Yun, are speaking Thursday, April 30 at 7 p.m. at the Rockport Opera House in Rockport, Maine. Part of the Rockport Public Library's "Spring Into Health" series to educate the public about important medical issues, the talk is free and open to the public.

Renowned geneticist Dr. Woychik will explain how scientists are working toward a new kind of medicine, in which treatments are tailored to each patient's personal genetic profile. Dr. Yun will talk about her work studying pediatric brain tumors and cancer stem cells.
