Pediatric immunologist, former Jackson Laboratory summer student, featured on ABC news

Mary Louise Markert, M.D., Ph.D., an associate professor of pediatrics and immunology at Duke University Medical College, has pioneered thymus transplants in babies. Dr. Markert is a 1970 graduate of The Jackson Laboratory's Summer Student Program, and says that her love of immunology and career choice came from "that pivotal summer in my life." Her work will be featured on two ABC-TV programs on July 15, "Good Morning America" and "Nightline".
