Jackson Laboratory saluted for energy efficiency efforts
| Date: May 17, 2006 |
The Jackson Laboratory has been recognized for its efforts in improving energy efficiency by Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships. The Lab was one of eight organizations to be recognized as "Business Leaders for Energy Efficiency" at NEEP's 2006 Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit in Boston on May 17.
The award cites The Jackson Laboratory's achievement of a 16-percent decrease in fuel oil consumption and eight-percent decrease in electricity consumption since launching an energy conservation program in 2003. During the same period, the institution's physical plant also grew significantly. John Fitzpatrick, the Laboratory's senior director of facilities services, accepted the award.
More information about the award and The Jackson Laboratory's specific accomplishments are available on the NEEP web site.
