Donate a Strain to The Jackson Laboratory Repository

The Genetic Resources Committee meets once a month to make recommendations concerning the importation of submitted strains. To ensure that your strain is evaluated at the next meeting, please submit your strain no later than the 3rd Wednesday of the month. The information submitted on this form is used to evaluate your strain, so please include as much detail as possible. Please enter information for no more than one strain at a time. You will receive a confirmation email upon our receipt of your completed strain submission.  If you do not receive a confirmation email, or if you have any questions, please contact Deborah Boswell.

We strongly recommend that submitters read Information for Donating Investigators (.pdf). This document describes the responsibilities The Jackson Laboratory has in maintaining and distributing your strain as well as those responsibilities assumed by Donating Investigators.

Information is now available for scientists interested in participating in a Sponsored Strain Distribution program, whereby donors subsidize the costs associated with importation and cryopreservation. The Sponsored Strain Distribution program utilizes an expedited review process.
