Predoctoral opportunities

The Jackson Laboratory participates in a graduate student program with the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) at the University of Maine.  The tracks of study in the GSBS are:

  • Cell and Molecular Biology
  • Functional Genomics/Interdisciplinary Studies
  • Neurobiology
  • Cell and Molecular Biology
  • Toxicology
  • Biomedical Engineering

There are different required courses for each track. All students are required to take an Ethics and a BioStatistics course. Many required courses are conveniently offered via ITV. 

In this program, students will do three laboratory rotations at two sites. Read about the rotation projects available with our faculty.

We are seeking students with strong academic records, especially those with previous research experience. Applications are due by January 15th, prioritized by February 15th and top candidates will be brought in for on-site interviews.  Offers of admission will be made by March 15th.
