Derived from mice captured in the Poschiavo Valley in Switzerland; imported from Alfred Gropp via Frank Ruddle.
Robertsonian chromosomes are bi-armed (metacentric) chromosomes formed by the joining of two single-armed (acrocentric) chromosomes at the centromere ends. Rb(16.17)7Bnr is homozygous for a Robertsonian chromosome composed of chromosomes 16 and 17.
