FY11 Annual Report

Fiscal Year 2011, which ended on May 31, will likely be remembered as a time of foundation building for The Jackson Laboratory. The end of 2011, a “stub” budget time in which the Laboratory is moving from a legacy June 1—May 31 fiscal year to a more practical calendar year cycle, has been anything but a mere "stub" in terms of events.

In August, Edison Liu, M.D., was named president and CEO after a search that spanned FY2011. And in October, the Connecticut legislature approved funding for The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine in Farmington, Conn., a collaborative effort that will bring the Laboratory’s research to patients with more speed and efficiency than ever before. So as we look back, we also look forward to time of growth and progress as great as any in the Laboratory’s long and vibrant history.
