Animal Care Trainees

What's the job like?

When you accept the job, you will undergo extensive training including classroom and on-job-training to learn all aspects of animal husbandry including feeding, watering, sanitation, monitoring animal health and environmental parameters as well as mouse colony management.  Colony management includes setting up new breeding units, tracking breeder performance, weaning and preparing mice for shipment along with other husbandry duties.

What we are looking for

We are looking for people with a solid work history, an aptitude for detail and record keeping, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. 

  • You must have a minimum of HS diploma or GED and prior work experience. 
  • Experience working with laboratory animals is a plus.
  • Individuals with four-year degrees in Animal or Life Sciences have the opportunity to advance more quickly along the career tracts.
