Alström Syndrome International was formed in August, 1995 at the First International Alström Syndrome gathering in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.  Alström Syndrome International is intended for families, friends, and professionals worldwide whose lives have been touched by Alström Syndrome.  ASI serves families and professionals in 44 different countries and continues to try to identify new patients from all over the world.
